Ways To Look Your Best

Is looking your best the right thing to do? I say it is. You never know who you are going to come in contact with. If you are single, there is a 50-50 chance you may come in contact with your potential mate. Do you really think you are going to meet him if you have rollers in your hair while shopping for groceries? Do you really think you are going to meet her wearing the shirt covered in paint stains? More than likely the answer is no.

So why not take the extra time to pay close attention to what you look like and increase the chances of you meeting the kind of people you are drawn to. In addition, thinking about how you look and creating an image in your mind of how you would like to look is definitely important to the image you project.

Here are some tips to help your vision turn into a manifestation.

1. Inspect your shoes. What do you observe? Are there scratches, scuffs, mud, and etc. Scrutinizing the way your shoes look suggests that small details.

2. Inspect each item of clothing you own. Look for snags, stains, and broken zippers. Determine what can be repaired and what cannot be repaired.

3. Assign a specific time each month to complete the inspection.

4. Give away clothing to charity. Clothing, which is too big, too small, not your style, etc..., can benefit someone else. An added bonus is a tax deduction.

5. Take back clothing which still have tags attached and has not been worn in the past two weeks. You are not going to wear.

6. Dedicate time to creating an organization system in your closet. There are several ways you can organize your closet: 1. Capsules 2. Colors 3. Length 4. Lifestyle. The main thing to remember is to organize your closet for functionality. Whatever system you use should assist you in minimizing the time it takes to get dressed.

Five Bra Styles Every Woman Must Have

There are many kinds of bras you can find in almost every store. But there are a few basics styles that you have to have inside your closet. These bra styles are essential in everyday fashion, so you must own at least one of these:

• T-shirt bra - It's a great everyday piece. The seamless cups of the t-shirt bra allow you to look smooth even in the clingiest and thinnest of shirts. They also support your breasts and it comes in sizes from cup A to plus size. You should have one for everyday, in a variety of colors that matches your shirt or your mood.

• Underwire bra - If you need ample breast support and shaping, underwire bras are your solution. They can be padded or lined to give your breasts a bit of a push-up. Just remember that you should get the proper size for this kind of bra so that it doesn't poke or hurt your breasts when you wear an underwire bra.

• Soft cup bra - The opposite of the underwire bra which, obviously, has no wires in the cups. This is what you should wear when you want a bra that's comfortable and supportive but without the feeling of wires. Sometimes called a leisure bra, you can wear this any time of the day - even for sleeping.

• Sports bra - Regular bras are for regular activities. But for the more active woman, it's important to have a sports bra in the wardrobe. Unlike regular bras, they give amazing support and prevent your breasts from bouncing while you exercise. Without maximum support, your breast tissue may get damaged. So if you're a gym buff, a sports bra is essential.

• Convertible bra - Call it the all-in-one bra. Convertible bras have adjustable shoulder straps so you can wear it any way you want. If you have a halter blouse, a one-shoulder dress or a strapless top, the convertible bra can be your ultimate solution for any kind of neckline. It's the perfect bra for any event wear.

These five bra styles are, more or less, the ones that you should have inside your closet. Just remember, when buying a bra always consider the size, support and comfort it gives you. And that there are different bras for different occasions and needs, so it's best to have at least one of every kind.

New Spring Clothing Means Deals on Wholesale Clothing

Spring is one of the best, and most exciting times of the year to go shopping. There are brand new spring designs in every store, and everyone is excited to put away their boring, old winter clothing. Everyone wants something new for the spring and summer seasons.

The modern world of style offers an almost infinite array of silhouettes, fabrics, colors, patterns, and stores to buy them in. No matter how old you are you're going to want to see the designs that are in great demand for this coming spring in all the shops. You can enjoy wearing your new garments and looking terrific, and you can also enjoy the exciting experience of shopping for these hot spring fashions.

Hot spring fashions often include a variety of cheerful, and bright colors for women. Floral prints are perfect for shirts, skirts, dresses, and cropped pants this spring. You can be bold and loud with the selection of floral prints in casual styles, or sweet and subtle with the smaller flora print patterns made specifically for lightweight materials. Soft, filmy dresses combined with silky scarves can be worn to the office or for an evening out. The most popular flower prints this season include blossoming roses, peonies, dahlias, violets, and pansies. Both metallic and world-inspired materials and styles are a big hit this spring.

For men, hot styles for spring include traditional cuts with some clever shots of color. For pants, traditional neutral colors of black, platinum gray, khaki, caramel, and olive are still chic. Fitted shirts can have some shine and pastel spring color. Button down shirts can be bold in color and patterned in stripes or plaid. Baggy, wide-legged and loose-fitting pants are still popular for casual attire.

New clothing styles for boys this spring incorporate the looks of a rock star, relaxed surfer, or sports hero. Baggy jeans, as well as Hawaiian print shirts with a "surfer" feel, are still popular. For casual day-to-day wear, comfortable sporty clothes are still in fashion. For a more dressed-up look, try classic golf polos to be in style.

Hot spring styles for females focus on fresh styles with a great deal of bright color. The most popular colors are generally pastels or vibrant floral colors. Floral prints along with gingham, stripes and plaid are also in style. These characteristics make for a fresh and sweet style. Also important are feminine and unisex sporty looks.

One feature of spring clothing is the bright colors, and it is true this year as well. this year's spring designs have a lot of very feminine silhouettes and feminine accessories. These go a long way to compliment each other. This year's spring lines are especially exciting because there are a lot of new twists on old classics.

New fashions are being featured in the fashion and lifestyle magazines as spring continues to bloom into stores everywhere. When looking for the newest and trendiest spring fashions, women should check Vogue and Elle magazines, while men should look into GQ and Esquire.

Every year, spring fashions are highlighted in glamorous cities across the globe. In the northern hemisphere it is just about mid-February that the new spring fashions are set to hit the store shelves, so the race is on to make room on those shelves.

A new season means a new and fresh stock of clothing for shoppers to spruce up their spring wardrobes with bright vivid colors. However, this can also mean great deals for those bargain hunters out there! Once new stock comes in to a store, the old stock is heavily marked down to help move it out of stores and wholesale clothing distributors. However, retail or wholesale stores are not the only ones trying to move their stock; you can also find great deals online on the web sites of wholesale clothing retailers.

Wholesale name brand clothes - Wide selection of wholesale name brand clothing as well as wholesale designer jeans, wholesale designer handbags, wholesale womens clothing, wholesale mens clothing and wholesale children's clothing. Howard Brule does article marketing that works.

Women's Fashion Jewellery Autumn 2007 Winter 2008

Fashion Accessory - Women's Gold Jewellery

Everywhere this year you will see shops displaying large chunky over-the-top gold jewellery, gold chains and cocktail rings with massive settings.

Womens Jewellery - Bohemian garnet jewellery.I took this photograph in Prague this summer outside a jeweller's shop just off the Charles Bridge in Prague city.

The Czech state is famed for its Bohemian garnet jewellery. Some of the gemstone settings are beautiful and some are pure kitsch, but I was struck by this central garnet encrusted torque.

The estate jewellery on display was magnificent and full of over the top fashion accessories encrusted and studded with garnet gems set in gold.

Garnet gems are perfect to bring out tones of red - one of the season's hottest colours for fall. You can read more about red fashion trends on the Lady in Red page. Bohemian garnet jewellery - a garnet encrusted torque necklace and a garnet necklet.

This, jeweller's window and many others like it were set ablaze with over the top opulence. Remember just one of these ornate necklaces is enough. I am very fond of this deep torque example encrusted with red garnets and shown to the right.

How I wish I had gone in to examine the red garnets more closely and to try this piece on. Now I wonder how I resisted going in to take that closer look.

Click to see how wonderful this bold dramatic red garnet torque looks when enlarged.

Flower DesignsStunning ring.

Cartier’s Caress d’Orchidee collection of orchid jewellery motifs for this year is stunningly designed diamond estate jewellery.

This beautiful ring is one of the items in the Cartier range. Large rings are a hot fashion trend. These chandelier earrings are from www.sparklingaccessories.com

But if you cannot run to estate jewellery you may well find some costume jewellery such as these lovely cubic zirconia double circle chandelier drop earrings.

These are from www.sparklingaccessories.com and may well add just the finishing touch for your special night out.

With their pave set cubic zirconia at the posts and pave set cubic zirconia lining the hanging sterling silver loops they are truly glamorous.

Maria Helena Spector Peruvian Jewelery Designer

Maria Spector NecklaceMaria Helena Spector is a Peruvian painter and jewelery designer living in London. She also sells jewelery for women who have problems in getting necklaces for a larger plus size neck.Maria Spector Necklace

Maria Spector does of course sell pieces that fit an average sized neck too.

Her necklaces are unique one of a kind pieces and are worked mainly with semi precious stone and gold leaf.

This beautiful necklace left by Maria Spector is Mother of Pearl and corals covered in 24ct gold leaf. The necklace right is made from amazonite, calcite, rose quartz and 24ct gold leaf and would give presence to any woman wearing it. Plus size women carry off strong bold pieces really well.

These very unusual necklaces have an earthy quality that is beyond mass produced Boho jewellery. You really won't see loads of others wearing a necklace exactly the same as a one off from Maria. If you desire something unique then the work of a designing artist like Maria is the answer - she is an artist at work who loves her craft.

Marina Nelson of Soularwave.etsy.com

Gold leaf pendant from soularwave.etsy.comAnother designer with interesting, unique and affordable pieces is Marina Nelson of

She makes gold dipped leaves into pendants. She told me about her new autumn leaves and I think they would look wonderful with the clothing options I've written about in autumn trends 2006.

These jewelery pendants are 22K gold dipped leaves and they look gorgeous with rich autumn browns and purples or even with just a crisp white shirt.

Gold leaf pendant from soularwave.etsy.comMarina tells me that the stunning leaves she makes are each unique handcrafted pieces of wearable art. The real Evergreen leaves are dipped in 22K gold and hand-painted with copper-like colors. The process preserves and strengthens the leaf so it can be treasured forever, but you can still see the intricate inner structure.

This pendant can be slipped onto most chains and ribbons that you already own or alternatives Marina offers such as leather cord. Like Maria above, internationally aware Marina also does custom work.

You can see more pieces using different evergreen leaves and other jewelery items at soularwave.etsy.com.

Wrist Focus

This gold tone cuff is also by Calow and is available from John Lewis stores.Cuffs are big news this fall. Their popularity has been growing as a golden jewellery accessory for some time, but this autumn they will be more prominent and more easily available than before.

Latest Fashioned Men's Wears from Gucci - 2007 Fashion Trends from Gucci

Frida Giannini never stops finding inspiration in her hometown, Rome—some one should give that girl the keys to the city. For her latest men's collection, she'd been spending time at the legendary film studio Cinecittà, looking at fifties-era photos of actors like Marcello Mastroianni in their white suits and piqué polo shirts. But sportswear as we understand it now didn't exist in Italy then, so, to bring things up to this century, Giannini also drew on the boys the Romans call adorable caniglia, who twist tradition with a little sartorial eccentricity. Then, to add some unambiguously masculine spice, she injected a dash of speed demon Steve McQueen in the form of aerodynamic biker jackets and pants.

Giannini's recipe needed that weight because, in the end, what really stood out was her own playful Gucci-lite sensibility: leather jackets in silver, white, butter yellow, or lacquered black paired with skinny trousers in bold checks or bright colors, which had an almost cartoonish flair that evoked the eighties. Also echoing that decade was the new-wave smartness of a check suit, striped shirt, and spotted tie combination (the effect was compounded by the soft, Capezio-like shoes in white or silver). Giannini claimed the checks actually came from her research into the fifties at Cinecittà, but it was men she was looking at in those old photos, and it's boys she's dressing when she matches Mastroianni's smart checks with a green suede baseball jacket. Though the look still has its charms, it might be time to move on up.

Below are some of the latest Men's dresses from Gucci.

Fashion Icon - Fashion Attracts Attention And More So If In Good Taste

By: Kacy Carr

What is a fashion icon, well it is a person who is looked upon by others as being most fashionable in the way they dress to impress and present themselves in the latest trendy designer gear. A fashion icon regardless of how they feel, will, 24 hours a day, dress up to the nines to uphold the title they have been labeled with. An avid follower of fashion will normally duplicate what their favorite celebrity is wearing, therefore, choosing to ignore what is more ideally suited to their own image and budget. Duplication in the form of replicating what your idol is wearing, should only be copied if the boot fits so as to speak i.e. shape and size

Example: A size 8 figure hugging frock may not look quite as good on the female frame - which measures up to a size 18.

In the UK - Victoria Beckham wife of David the famous footballer has been named the ultimate fashion icon - beating supermodel Kate Moss into second place, with pop rival Nicole Appleton taking the vote for third place. However personal preference in desired clothing and appeal may differ in opinion from different individuals on this ballot, there will be those who applaud Victoria Beckham being crowned a fashion icon, while on the other hand there will be those who oppose the result.

Without doubt - fashion icon Victoria is most profoundly stylish, trendy and chic dressed in expensive designer gear from Italy Paris London, but so is her pretty bank balance. Fashion traits of Mrs Beckham are very desirable to say the least, so desirable that women replicate themselves based upon her wardrobe with devastating consequences, i.e. debt.

They say money can not buy happiness, but it sure can put a smile on your face when it makes Prada and Versace designed garments more affordable. Former band member of the spice girls, Posh Spice (Victoria) has also had a taste of modeling - she went under the spotlight at the London Fashion Week wearing designs from one of her favourite designers Maria Grachvogel.

When following suit of others especially a fashion icon - you need to remember that whatever clothes you wear will always be considered as a second hand idea. In other words you are not the first to dress in the latest new chic designs because; your fashion icon has beaten you to it.

Put the shoe on the other foot. Fashion icons are no different to you and me; they too browse fashion magazines and shop in fashion boutiques for clothes to wear, so therefore this is an opportunity to turn the tables round in your favor. If you are of the creative type, then get out the sewing basket and start making your own creations. If you are not handy with a needle and cotton then find someone who is to help make - what it is - you have in mind.

Getting your ideas noticed by a fashion designer can be a difficult task, but do not let that deter you. Promote your own personal ideas to those who matter, by becoming a fashion icon in the eyes of friends and family. Fashion attracts attention and more so if it is in good taste where your personality shines through.

Teen Fashion Tips - Dread Your Daughter's Taste in Fashion?

Every 15-16 year old girl wants to experiment with her looks. It is normal. It is also normal for mothers to feel anxious about this change. The best thing to do is to choose your battles. You may cringe at the thought of eye shadow on your 13-year-old, but, if you compromise on temporary cosmetics you'll be successful at putting a stop to more drastic changes, like permanent tattoos.

Be open

Listen to your daughter's ideas. She'll be more sensitive than ever because you're talking about her appearance. A green streak in her black hair might seem outrageous, but if you tell her that, she may not talk to you about her next new idea. Buy your daughter makeup that you find acceptable. Lipstick washes off so it's a good place to start. Most girls will see right away that red lipstick looks terrible on them, so let her try out all the colours she wants, and then offer to buy her something sheer - a light pastel or lip-gloss.

Focus on skin care

Talk to your daughter about overall beauty; she should focus all her energies on her skincare. Teach her to cleanse, moisturise and use sunscreen.

Allow for temporary solutions

If she insists on getting a tattoo done, ask her to try a faux-tattoo. A rubber stamp in a design that you like and an ink pad of waterproof mascara can give her an instant, non-permanent tattoo.

Or 'fake' piercings

If your daughter wants the look of multiple earrings, use clip-ons. For simulated navel or nose jewellery, you can affiX a rhinestone or lightweight charm to skin with eyelash / surgical adhesive.

A real tattoo

Ask her to do some research on permanent tattoos. Statistics show most people regret getting them. Let her talk to women who have tattoos. Also, tell her that getting a tattoo would be like wearing her pink top or the same pair of black shoes every day of her life. That might put her off!

Know when to give in

Adolescence is an intense period for discovering who you are. Your daughter needs some space. It's important for you to keep a perspective. If she wants to colour her hair or try an unusual haircut, let her. Her hair will always grow back.

Brief History of Italian Fashion

By: Juliana De Angelis

Italy and Fashion have a very unique and special relationship, and when you consider such names as Dolce&Gabbana, Versace and Armani, to name but a few, it's not difficult to see why. But if we look back into the history of Italian Fashion, (e.g. see also the article on Nina Ricci) we start to understand what gave Italy such a status in the Fashion World.

Count Giorgini started the 'Italian Fashion' craze in 1951, when he organised a fashion show to be presented to an International audience in Florence. He then continued to present other fashion shows at his palace, presenting new collections modelled by nobilty against a backdrop of fine arts and scenery. Nobilty would also model new collections at museums or exhibitions next to famous pieces of fine art. This all contributed to elevating the status of Italian fashion, and implanting in everyone's minds that Italian fashion gives you status, is very rich in quality, and almost 'fairytale' like.

In the 1970s and 1980s Milan made its mark as being the Fashion Capital of Italy, and the phrase Made in Italy became universally recognised as meaning 'high quality', and 'high fashion'. Today there are various fashion trade fairs in Milan, and it is considered by many to be the Fashion Capital of The World.

Ugg Boots are Today's Latest Fashion Craze in Quality Footwear

Have you heard about the latest trend in footwear? It's the Australian Ugg boots, and if your shoe cupboard hasn't got a pair yet, then you're missing out on some very trendy footwear! Ugg boots are available in so many different colours and styles that there will surely be a design to suit most tastes. This makes the Ugg much sought after footwear and it's because it's so versatile that it's become very desirable in western societies.

The actual term 'Ugg boot' came from Australia and it was used to describe this style of sheepskin boot at the time. The origin of the word is not known 100%, but many believe it was taken from the abbreviation 'ugly', but that's certainly not a thought shared by the Ugg Boot wearers of today.

Can you believe they were originally worn by the Auzzie surfers to keep their feet warm after surfing for many hours in the sea! There's actually a fair bit of fascinating history behind these boots and if you're interested you'll find it all on the web.

Such is the phenomenon surrounding these boots, it looks like they are here to stay. In fact, even though these boots have been around for donkey's years, the Ugg Boot has become the latest fashion item to hit the shoe stores in recent years, and it seems that every woman wants to own a pair and for good reason too. It doesn't seem to matter what 'look' you are trying to achieve, the Ugg boot can fit in with your dress plans just fine.

Many of the celebrities seem to be wearing the Ugg boot these days which will certainly contribute to its popularity, but the truth is the world seems to have taken this hip footwear into their fashion wardrobe even before the stars began to adorn their feet with the many trendy styles available.

Another great benefit to the Ugg boot is the comfort level. Quality footwear not only lasts longer, it feels great too, and more importantly it and doesn't damage your feet like so many of the other stylish shoes and boots around today

Some folks simply call them sheepskin boots, but whether you name them Ugg or sheepskin, they are incredibly warm and soft and have been a massive fashion hit with just about everyone over the last few years, and there seems to be no slowing up on demand either.

When you're next in the market for new shoes just take a look at the latest styles of Ugg. You will find them a real refreshing change to stilettos and other types of footwear. Whether you want to show a bit of leg sandwiched between Ugg and skirt, worn with a conservative knee length skirt, or pulled over a pair of your favorite jeans (preferred in America), the Ugg boot will complement any outfit.

Winter Fashion Trends

By Sarah Freeland

Winter is a difficult time to look fashionable, especially if you live in a colder climate. However, it is not impossible. To start with you can buy clothing that are made from warmer materials like wool and cashmere, and that also reflect the colors and patterns from this season’s clothing trends. Generally speaking winter fashion trends will relay partially on the timeless winter classics so you won’t need to replace your entire winter wardrobe to stay in style, as long as you know what these timeless pieces are you should only have to buy a few new winter pieces each season to stay in style.

To build a winter wardrobe that follows the current winter fashion trends you will want to start with your footwear. While you may not think that winter boots offer much flexibility when it comes to fashion choices there really are a lot of great options to choose from. However, if you want a boot that will remain in style through several seasons then you can’t go wrong with a black winter boot. Then if you winter budget can stand it, buy a second and/or third pair of boots in this season’s colors and styles.

The next area of your body that you will want to protect from the coldness of winter is the lower half of your body. To stay warm look for pants that have a flattering cut for your body type and that are also made from a heavier material like wool. If you like to wear skirts in the winter then you can protect your legs by wearing colored tights.

To really pull your fashion forward winter wardrobe together you will want to look for top options that really pop. Sweaters, scarves, and fashion accessories can also easily be added to reflect winter fashion trends from this season. For the best clothing options for your body, look for tops that have a shape that de-emphasizes your problem areas and that also have a color palette that compliments your skin tone and hair color.

Tanning: A Fashion That Has Gone On To Become A Passion

By: Joann Grant

By tanning we mean changing the color of skin into a dark brown or bronze color, that's what we call a tan color. When tanning captured the imagination of fashion freaks across the globe, the sun was only source to attain a tan color. Sun tan was a preferred practice to get brownish skin. Now a days a good number of artificial or man made means have come on the block to substitute suntan. In America and else where in the west, women's fascination with tan color never seems ending. Instead tanning rage is flourishing at its best.

The fashion that holds a lineage with ancient Greek civilization got a kick start in modern times by famous fashion face of France Coco Channel. She was the first to get noticed with body tan in early twentieth century. From then onwards the fashion kept gaining the momentum and ended up inspiring three generations.

Soaring urge of Americans to attain the tan color resulted in number of artificial ways to get tanned. It was not possible for everyone to spend enough time under the sun for tanning. These artificial tanning products in turn gave way to a full fledged tanning industry in America. The industry is still blossoming and satisfying tanning requirement of people. However sun tanning still remains a preferred practice. People take couple of weeks off for beach holidays with the intention of attaining natural tan color. But even while undergoing suntan, suntan lotions and creams must be used.

Introduction of tanning beds brought a new surge in the tanning fashion. Tanning beds offered a less time taking and comparatively safe procedure for tanning. Tanning equipment manufacturers came up with two types of tanning beds: one for commercial purpose and other to be used at home. Home tanning beds are very popular among all tanning enthusiasts. With the help of the bed they can get their desired level of tan.

With the advent of tanning salons in eighties, the fashion ventured into commercialism of a new kind. Quick tanning ways of these salons became very popular and folks in flocks started paying visit to salons. You too can visit a near by salon for giving fashion a try.

Emergence of tanning lotions, sprayers, pills and bronzers have brought a revolution in the world of tanning. The fashion seems to rule over elite and has successfully made an inroad into the lower strata of the society as well. Young girls are particularly crazy about it and women seem obsessed with tan color. Perhaps the fashion has turned out to be a passion.

Men's Tie Accessories & What They Do

Today's tie is a descendent of the European cravat which was a long strip of cloth worn about the neck. A starched, white ruff was then attached to keep the jacket or doublet from becoming marred or stained as well as functioning as a napkin or bib as the need arose. Ties are used now as a fashion statement or as part of a uniform.

We've all seen comical situations occur with men and their ties. For instance, when the news camera catches a man walking across the street during a storm and his tie is blowing frantically around his head. Without a doubt, there are also dangers lurking with tie-wearers which need to be taken into consideration, such as when the tie gets caught in machinery. To avoid such circumstances, several smart devices have been invented that enables the tie to be attached to the dress shirt underneath, thereby holding it in place.

The following list gives the names and descriptions of each of these devices:
  • TIE BAR: Much like the shape and function of a paperclip, this is an elongated strip of metal used to slide across the tie, attaching it to the shirt. Tie bars, also known as tie slides can be found in plain or decorative patterns.
  • TIE CHAIN: Usually made from gold or silver, and resembling a hanger with a loop to attach to a button with a chain hanging down from either end. The tie is slipped through the loop, hiding the bar and revealing the chain in front.
  • TIE CLIP: Two or three strips of material joined together by a spring-loaded mechanism which is clipped across the tie and shirt, holding them together. Also known as a tie clasp, they come in a variety of materials, lengths and shapes. Many have decorative engravings, logos or gemstones attached.
  • TIE STRAP: A relatively new accessory which is slipped through the back of the tie through the label loop then buttoning it above and below. They are usually made of cloth or plastic.
  • TIE TACK: Also known as a tie pin, this utensil resembles a studded earring with a chain attached to a long, cylindrical piece of metal or weight. The pin is detached from its base and placed through the material of the tie and then reattached to the base. The weight is then slid through a buttonhole, which keeps the tie in place.
It's a matter of preference which instrument each person uses but one thing to remember with tie pins is that they tend to damage the silk tie cloth when piercing them. When shopping for tie clips, be sure to choose the correct widths and materials to complement your tie collection.

A Review of Faux Fur Coats

By: Morgan Hamilton

Many people are of the opinion that faux fur coats are rather gaudy, but personally I happen to think that if done properly they can look fantastic. The great thing about a faux fur coat is that you can get it in any style of animal that you want. You couldn't get a real tiger coat, but a tiger faux fur coat? I own several of these exotic coats and I love them. The field the soft ground for is really unparalleled and the imitation of the animals coloring and patterns makes a quality faux fur coat the fun thing to wear.

Of course a lot of my friends have a good chuckle over my choices of faux fur coats. “You are a successful business woman,” they say, “what are you wearing and not God when he could actually be wearing the real thing?” “No chance,” I reply, and I proceed to tell them about why I have a love affair with my faux fur coat. What is tacky isn't wearing a faux fur coat, it is, in my estimation, sporting something barbaric, cruel, and absurdly expensive on my back when the imitations are so clever as to be almost as good as the original.

Not to mention are just as warm and comfortable as the real thing. A fur coat only tells someone that you are rich, something which I don't particularly care to broadcast to the world. I'm not quite that insecure. A faux fur coat tells people that you are a creature of unique and individual tastes who refuses to follow convention. That's what I would like the world to know about me

I have been queried, because I like faux fur coats so much, if there are any other synthetic material is a prefer used over their natural counterparts. While I do confess a certain fondness for pleather, in that case it is usually far superior in my estimation to deal with the authentic article. For starters, I don't feel anywhere near as guilty buying leather as I would if I bought fur.

While only one cow was slaughtered to make my leather jacket, dozens of poor adorable little rabbits would have to give their lives to make one actual rabbit fur coat. I don't know that is fair or even make sense, but either way that's how I feel. I guess it's probably not so fair for the cow.

Besides that, leather is much softer and suppler than pleather. Although a faux fur coat is often as smooth and pleasant as real fur without the possibility of allergens, between pleather and good leather, there is scarcely more than a similarity. Others actually pretty basic that you prefer it to be either black or brown. It comes from a single animal, and in only a select few colors, so there is no sense in getting pleather in something along the lines of a zebra pattern. Now that's tacky.

Tankini: The Bikini Revolution

Women everywhere have always been faced by the existential sunbathing dilemma: to hide or not to hide? How much is too revealing and how sad is not showing enough? But due to the recent revolutionary efforts of swim wear designers from all across the fashion world, there is bound to be one just perfect for you. You don't have to resort to extreme flaunting nor do you have to cover up like an uncomfortably wrapped burrito either. With this fairly new genius take on bikinis, you can't go wrong. Next to the bikini and the one-piece maillot, the tankini could as well be the next great addition to the wonderful world of swimsuits. Thank God for the Tankini!
This hybrid of the tank top, the one-piece suit and the bikini has proven to be one of a girl's best friends. Who would've thought tank tops could be so hydro-fashionable? It captivates onlookers and soon-to-be supporters of the movement with its ability to hide unwanted skin surface area and minimize flaws in the middle section, yet still manage to exude the sexy factor. If you aren't a big fan of showing off too much skin or are still a little apprehensive about flaunting your God-given assets, then it would be a good idea to take this direction. Next to the skin-baring eye-catching string bikini comes the comfort and charm of the tankini.

As with any other kind of bathing suit, there is a lot of variations to the tankini as far as fit and style are concerned. Some tops are meant to reach down to the hips to meet the bikini bottoms and provide full tummy coverage. Other tankini tops cut off mid-waist or just around the upper hip area to show a little ab action. For a more ruffled and wild tankini experience, a Ruched number would be perfect. It provides for a slightly more form-fitting top and suits women who want a tailored look. If you're interested to get this elegant whim, you can check out the DKNY Dark Teal Green Ruched Tankini. It is made utterly fabulous by its shiny stretchable ruched nylon top highlighted by its sexy v-neck cut, adjustable shoulder straps, full bottom coverage, and sufficiently padded shelf bra. For an irresistible 40% off discount, you can purchase the gorgeous item for only $61.00 at www.bluefly.com.

I would suggest getting a camikini for more breast support, which is almost like a tankini except the top looks more like a camisole or undershirt. It boasts of ultra comfort and supreme hold. The Nautica Palm-print Soft Cup Camikini and Hipster Swimsuit, for example, will surely turn you into the hottest babe at the beach. Its camisole top has easy-rest straps, soft cups, and an elastic back to ensure a delightful yet relaxed summer experience. Its blue and yellow palm-leaf print trimming camouflages undesirable love handles and back flabs making it the ideal suit for women with weight concerns. This gem should be available in sizes 0 through 16 on www.overstock.com and if you find the desire to buy one, you get to save over $56 from the online purchase.

Since tankinis are basically two pieces of brilliant couture, it would be fun to mix and match solid or printed tops with other bottoms that you might already have. They are versatile and pocket-friendly that way. You could start with the Starlet Halter Top from the *Vitamin A* swim wear collection which is made with a super soft fabric finish. It has no padding or under wire, but proves to be one hell of a supportive tankini top even for the moderately top heavy. Pair it with your favorite khaki shorts, swim suit bottom, denim skirt, or low-rise jeans and you'll surely turn heads at the beach or on a blissful and elegant evening around town. Get it for only $84 on instyleswimwear.com. So before you take that in-door summer sabbatical, bid adieu to the yummy lifeguards on duty at the beach or stick to your very own inflatable pool. Do consider the tankini for one second. It would not just save your social life but it can actually feel pretty good once you're wearing it.

The New Definition of Fashionable Beach

Before David Hasselhof, Pamela Anderson, and company invaded the beach scene, swimming was just a mere sport for fin-gifted and beach-side born people. But when Baywatch hit the shores of America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and even Africa, swimming was put in another light- a fashion ground. Wave after wave, the phenomenal success and popularity of the life-saving, life guard chronicle, beach world drama changed the way people view swimming and beaching. Baywatch introduced groundbreaking swimming clothing styles which was limited to traditional bikini styles pre-Baywatch era, alternative ways of being sexy and edgy under the scourging yet enticing heat of the sun, and it even propelled to greater heights of popularity the sport of surfing. Most of all, it made the concept of swimming and going to the beach one of the best avenues for unleashing and displaying to the rest of the world the sexy and fashionable in all of us. It painted all shores red and spelled every beach as hot and sexy, and the world heeded.

Come 21st century, the legacy of Baywatch lives on. Although it has already bitten the dust and bid the limelight goodbye, the waves that it made continue to hit every shore of this world. It's phenomenal success and influence even spread wider, leading to a domino effect of new generations of fashionable beach lifestyle. From flashy red, skimpy bikinis for women and butt-exposing shorts for men, the whole concept of fashionable swimming is now encapsulated just by one word--Billabong.

Call it a post-Baywatch trend or a double-the-sales marketing spin, Billabong is the new name of sexiness, sportiness, and aquatic lifestyle to beat.

Billabong is a word that came from the land down under. The word's original reference was to a dried up watering hole that flushes out only when a river floods. The aborigines of Australia often searched for billabongs to find food and sometimes water. But now, the term Billabong is a name for a popular brand of men's and women's surf clothing and beach apparel.

Although production of Billabong products dates back years prior to the Baywatch phenomenon, 1973 to be exact, it was only during the beginning of year 2000 that the brand emerged in the global market and made a name for itself in the beach clothing industry. And its dominance has since then expanded from the shores of Australia to the white beaches of Asia, the Pacific, and South America. Its strong wave of following among beach enthusiasts also hit with tremendous waves the shores of the Carribean, North America, and the vast region of Europe.

Since its emergence in the start of the new millennium, Billabong now has about 2,200 product lines in Australia, over 1,300 in North America, and over 1,200 product lines in Europe. The product lines include swim wear, watches, jewelery, wet suits, neoprene gloves and boots, surf caps, bags and backpacks, travel bags, beach bags, shoulder bags, wallets, belts, caps, thongs, towels, CD holders, beach mats, surfboard covers, body board covers, Von Zipper sunglasses, Element skateboards, and many others. The most popular ones are the T-shirts, board shorts, backpacks, and swim wear.

Billabong brought yet another big wave of sizzling hot beach *clothing and apparel* in many shores around the world with its 2006 Summer Collection. The highlight of the collection are the swimsuits, shorts, rash guards, shirts, vests, hats, pants, and even skirts dresses (casual for women).

The shorts are setting unbelievably very high sales. Selling like hot cakes, the board shorts and casual or lifestyle shorts are a big craze for both men and women. With more than 30 stylish and sexy designs, the Billabong board shorts come in many different colors (plain and printed alike) to fit the very varied taste of its market.

The top favorite among beach hunks are the Kauai board shorts, hombre board shorts, rival board shorts, and the Royal Flush board shorts. Women, on the other hand, are raving about Vogen board shorts, boardie capri, Golden Ticket board shorts, Floater board shorts, and boardie shorts.

The petal bikini, starfish bikini, and wildflower bikini are the most-worn bikinis among women of different ages. Rash guards for beginners and *professional surfers* are also one of the hot items in the 2006 summer collection.

With all the good finds in the 2006 summer collection, you won't run short of finding the best beach attire to sport each time you hit the shores. Wear any of Billabong's clothing item or apparel and you'll sure to wear that Baywatch babe or hunk-sizzling hotness.
